Promoting critical reflection on the reception of Greco-Latin Antiquity in Portuguese, Brazilian, and Portuguese-speaking African literatures, the Centre for Classical Studies of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon organized the seventh edition of the colloquium “Classical Literature or the Classics in Literature: Classical Presences in Portuguese-Language Literatures” with the aim of discussing and confronting ideas about the thematic reconfiguration, values, imagery, and classical works, as well as Greek and Latin characters, literary and poetic culture, history, and fiction, taking into account different chronologies and different places where Portuguese is written.
